Professor Shlomo Biderman – President of the Academic Collage Tel-Aviv Yaffo

The Academic College of Tel Aviv­Yaffo (MTA) is a public institution of higher education. Situated in Jaffa as a principle, MTA was founded 1994 with a double mission statement: to provide excellent academic education, and to leverage the college’s academic achievements in service of its surrounding communities. Reputed for its innovative approach, MTA integrates teaching and community work as fundamental pillars that inform and reinforce each other, which one of its pillars is removing barriers to equal participation. The College runs a comprehensive framework for the integration of Arab youth in Israeli society, from childhood to adulthood, comprising complementary interventions that advance academic skills alongside social strengths, culminating in a 1­year pre­academic ‘boot­camp’.

Prof. Biderman is the President of the Academic College of Tel Aviv-Yaffo (MTA), and is a reputed public intellectual in Israel, whose media publications and interviews “go viral” and whose public lectures are in high demand. Prof. Biderman voices a brazen call for an engaged academe, as a movement against ignorance and violence and a vital force in the building of a better society.
